The United States does not have a unique visa category for APEC delegates. The normal procedures for requesting visas from U.S. embassies or consulates abroad for diplomats, international organization officials, employees of a foreign government, or business travelers should be followed.
U.S. missions located in APEC member economies have been advised regarding the APEC 2011 series of meetings in order to facilitate the visa application process. It is the responsibility of each traveler to have a valid passport and the appropriate visa or, for business travelers from economies participating in the Visa Waiver Program, Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) clearance to travel to the United States. Traveler passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of departure from the United States and must have sufficient pages for visa stamps. Please contact your local U.S. embassy or consulate or refer to http://travel.state.gov/ for more information regarding U.S. visas.
Please note that the APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) cannot be used in place of a U.S. visa.
